The 250cc four-stroke motocrosser probably rates as the best all-around moto machine for experts and novices alike. There is plenty of torque to motor out of corners but they also are much easier to manage than the sometimes explosive snap from the big 450s. And there may not be anything so satisfying in internal combustion as revving out a quarter-liter four-stroke. The YZ250F’s engine gets a few changes this year-exhaust system and new carb/ignition settings to improve its performance, and the clutch has been redesigned. Chassis changes include a new swingarm for better cornering. As with the 450F, the White/Red bodywork costs $100 extra.
