Somewhere between its debut in 1957 and the present, the Sportster lost its edge. At one time the most hairy-chested of two-wheelers, it’s since been reduced in many people’s minds to a beginner’s bike. Well, the rough-and-ready Nightster is doing its part to destroy that image. Among the key styling features: a side-mounted license plate that folds rearward, flush with the blacked-out fender rails: wheel rims, hubs, fork, handlebar and hand/foot controls finished in basic black: medium-gray powdercoated engine cases with polished valve covers; and a cut-down solo seat that props the rider just a tad more than 26 inches off the ground.
