Sometimes, it’s the small companies that take the risks, and Husaberg is no exception, evidenced by the radical new FE450 enduro. In an effort to improve handling, Husaberg stepped “outside the box” by designing an engine with the cylinder canted 70 degrees forward and the crankshaft positioned above the transmission to move rotating inertial mass as close as possible to the bike’s center of gravity. Husaberg claims that as a result, the four-stroke’s handling is much more akin to that of a two-stroke than anything else in the Thumper world. Also available: The FE570e, the very same bike but with a 166cc-larger engine.
