Hell hath no fury like…a Honda? The 2010 Fury, available in dealerships later this year, breaks new ground offering buyers chopper styling along with the performance, quality and reliability they’ve come to expect from Honda. Power is sourced from the liquid-cooled, single-crank-pin VTX1300, now with fuel-injection for quicker starts, smoother launches and improved fuel economy. The Fury has a low seat height, shaft drive and the longest wheelbase of any production Honda. Accessories run the gamut, from billet covers to saddles, lights and windscreens.

Honda introduced the “T” (for Touring) version of the popular VTX1300 middleweight cruiser line just last year. Also available: The VTXI300R, a practically identical model that forms the basis for the VTX1300T. It differs only in the omission of the T-model s windshield, saddlebags and passenger backrest.

It is odd to consider this bike something of a “middleweight” cruiser, but displacements have expanded mightily in the last few years. So, while a sport-tourer with a 1300cc engine is “big,” this smaller VTX is not. Honda discon¬tinued the 1800 line this year, but the 1300C, with its hot-rod styling echoing that of its bigger brother, was always a better choice for a lot of riders. After all, it’s 100 pounds lighter, significantly shorter and much less expen¬sive. There also are plenty of accessories available to complement one of the four available color options.

Sport-touring motorcycles have evolved considerably since Honda introduced the ST 1300 in 2003, so this bikes transverse V-Four engine doesn’t quite have the juice of the newer BMW K1300GT, Kawasaki Concours 14 or Yamaha FJR1300. Nonetheless, the ST is a feature-laden, highly capable, beau¬tiful-handling sport-touring mount. It has features comparable to the competition’s, including an excellent riding position with adjustable seat height and electrically adjustable windscreen. Also available: The same bike equipped with ABS.

New back paint really dresses up the Interceptor and gives it a very classy look. Such a styling treatment is entirely appropriate for a motorcycle that is celebrating its 27th anniversary in the Honda lineup. The Interceptor has been around for a while, but this bike is a far cry from those of the early 1980s. In fact, this is one of the great all-around bikes ever built, with chassis balance and steering quality that rank among the best on the road, not to mention the superb riding position and excellent engine performance. Also available: The Interceptor ABS with anti-lock brakes.

In the cruiser market, it’s easy to be overwhelmed with manufacturers that have taken the bigger-is-better concept to extremes. That’s why the not-bigness of the Shadow Aero is one of its nicest qualities. It weighs just 553 pounds with a full tank of gas, has a low scat height and is dead-simple to handle. The carbureted, 745cc V-Twin runs smoothly, and its ample cylinder tinning hides the fact that it is liquid-cooled. Spoked wheels and fat fenders give the Aero a retro look that is further accentuated by the more-expensive two-tone paint options.

Honda walked a bit on the wild side with the Spirit 750 C2, a model based on the discontinued Spirit 750. The C2 is differentiated by a gunfighter seat, a 21-inch front wheel and a smoothly integrated taillight that all work together to help lend the bike a distinct street-rod look. Adding to that persona is a handlebar with a pleasing sweep, bullet-style staggered-dual mufflers and an incredibly low seat. The C2 is tame enough to be a good entry-level machine but cool enough that no one will suspect you just got your first big bike. A pinstriped two-tone paint scheme ups the price by $300.

Honda says the brand-new DN-01 is a “crossover” model that “combines true sporting performance with a fully automatic transmission, a low seat and exceptional style.” Leading the long list of interesting features that include standard Combined ABS is HFT (Human Friendly Transmission), a continuously variable hydromechanical transmission that offers two automatic modes and a six-speed manual mode with push-button shifting. Honda claims that HFT is compact, quiet and requires no scheduled maintenance.

This is really just a cheap, reliable transpo-device dressed up to look cool going down the road. How cheap? Check out that MSRP. It s so low that you could pay for the Rebel if you gave up that fancy double-shot-no- foam-half-caf-peppermint-vanilla lalte you buy every day. What you get in exchange for your 30 cups of joe a month is a great little motorcycle that makes around-town riding a pure economical joy. And hey. if you squint, the Rebel almost looks bad-ass. Nobody has to know you are getting 80 mpg…

This big dual-sporter has been in the lineup for more than a decade, earning a reputation as a go-anywhere, do-it-all machine. The “Wing” name means something in the Honda lineup. Is it comfort? Acres of contoured plastic? Sure, that and the utmost luxury available on two wheels - a scooter, in this case. The Silver Wing’s big Twin cranks out 50 horsepower, more than enough to shoot this no-shift machine off the line and out in front of most cars and many a motorcycle. There’s room for two on the ample seat, and plenty of storage on board, as well. There’s even an aluminum spoiler at the rear! Also available: The same machine, but equipped with anti-luck brakes.

A mobile lawnchair for the urban set? Sure, why not? The Ruckus is simple fun and probably the most “honest” scooter you will find on the road. How so? Well, it’s made of metal tubes and wears its machinery on its sleeve-no superfluous, plastic, wedge-shaped bodywork here. The engine is a 50cc four-stroke Single, and there are no gears to select. This makes the Ruckus easy to ride, while the very low weight makes it super-easy to handle. Shoot, if you’re burly enough, you can probably lift it right onto the back of your motorhome, no problem!
