The Tornado 1130 is Benelli’s flagship model, a stylish sportbike powered by a three-cylinder, 1130cc engine that pumps out a load of stump-pulling torque. From behind, at least, the Tornado is easily identified by the signature exhaust fans in the tailsection that draw air through the rear-mounted radiators. The frame utilizes large tubular-steel spars bolted and bonded onto aluminum plates. The fork is a Marzocchi and the shock an Extreme Tech unit working on an aluminum swingarm. Front braking is handled by powerful radial-mount Brembos.

This Italian hooligan is more than just a stripped-down version of its cousin, the Tornado sportbike. All attitude with performance to boot, the Sport is driven by a slightly detuned version of the repli-racer’s liquid-cooled engine, but it still packs a massive dose of torque. Side-mount radiators give the TnT a distinctive look. A 50mm Marzocchi fork and fully adjustable Extreme Tech shock arc mated to a hybrid steel-trellis-and-aluminum-plate frame and trellis swingarm with eccentric chain adjusters. Also available: The gold-and-black Cafe Racer.

Take the same torquey Triple found in the company’s other 1130cc motorcycles and stuff it into the frame of an upright, comfortable adventurer and you get this bike, the Tre K. This urban and asphalt explorer was designed to travel near or far in total comfort while carving apexes with ease. Its long-travel suspension includes a Marzocchi fork and Sachs shock with almost 6 inches of travel front and rear. The chassis incorporates a hybrid steel-trellis and aluminum-plate frame and swingarm. Also available: Adventurous types will like the more off-road-oriented, knobby-tire-equipped Amazonas.

Benelli TnT 899 / TnT 899S$12,599/13,299

This middleweight Triple is more of a three-quarter-scale bike than, say, Triumph’s 675cc Street Triple, filling a gap in Benelli s range. It’s powered by the same basic engine layout as the big-bore 1130s but destroked to 49.2mm from its sibling’s 62.0. Different pistons give the 899 an incresed compression ratio of 12.5:1, while redline has been raised a bit higher than on the big bikes. The chassis is very similar to the TnT Sport EVO’s and has an identical wheelbase but with a lower seat height. Its another interesting addition to the streetfighter category. Also available: The S99S with a sportier saddle and bars.

With a big influx of cash from parent company Qianjiang, Benelli has stepped out of the box and started building models that aren’t powered by its range of three-cylinder engines. The bike that stands out the most is the BX 505 Enduro, a model introduced in Europe last year. Its engine is a short-stroke, dohc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled Single with four titanium valves. The frame is an aluminum alloy perimeter unit with a progressively linked Sachs shock and a 50mm inverted fork. Also available: the BX 449 Cross, a smaller-displacement molocrosser built around the same chassis as the Enduro.
