The XB12R packs more original thinking into its sporty package than just about any other two-wheeler on the market. It’s powered by a fuel-injected Sportster-derived Thunderstorm V-Twin engine designed to deliver oomph anywhere in the rev range. The aluminum frame holds the bike’s fuel supply in its spars, while the swingarm is the oil reservoir for the engine’s dry-sump lubrication system. Rim-mounted ZTL (zero torque load) front brake, under-engine exhaust and belt drive all make the Firebolt stand out. A fully adjustable Showa fork and shock, along with a short wheelbase and radical steering geometry, help the Buell carve corners with case.
